Phoenix Arizona is an oasis of civilization set upon a vast, unforgiving desert wasteland. The thing about Phoenix AZ is it’s hot, and I mean boiling. The average high is in triple digits three months out of the year, and the coldest it has ever gotten was 16 degrees Fahrenheit back on January 7, 1913. Despite it just being so darn hot all the time, ice sports are very popular in the properly nicknamed “valley of the sun.”
