Those companies handle your information under their own privacy policies.
For our return, refund, exchange, and shipping terms, see our SKATE GURU INC Policy. For the terms that govern use of the website and your purchase, see our Terms and Conditions.

Blog comments
If you leave a comment on our blog, we collect the information shown in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public alongside your comment.
3. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our website, we and our service providers automatically collect:
- IP address, approximate location derived from it, and browser and device characteristics
- Pages viewed, products viewed, search terms used on our site, and time spent
- Referring website, search terms, and campaign parameters that brought you to us, which are stored to attribute orders to their marketing source
- Cart and checkout activity, including abandoned carts
- Security and network data used to protect the site against bots, fraud, and abuse
4. Payment Information
SKATE GURU INC does not collect or store full payment card numbers. When you pay, your card or account details are transmitted directly to our payment providers, which may include Stripe, PayPal, and buy-now-pay-later or installment providers such as Klarna, Affirm, and Afterpay. Stripe may also offer its Link one-click checkout. These providers are responsible for securing that information under their own privacy policies and applicable payment card industry standards.
We receive a limited confirmation record from the provider, which typically includes the payment status, the payment method type, the last four digits of the card, the billing name and address, and a transaction reference. We use this to process your order, issue refunds, and respond to chargebacks and payment disputes.
5. How We Use Your Information
- Process, verify, fulfill, and ship your orders, and provide tracking
- Send transactional messages such as order confirmations, shipping notices, holds requiring confirmation, and return updates
- Provide customer support and process returns, exchanges, refunds, and warranty claims
- Operate your account, the Loyalty Rewards program, and the referral program
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, policy abuse, chargeback abuse, and other prohibited activity, as described in our store policy
- Measure and improve site performance, merchandising, and the customer experience
- Deliver and measure advertising, including remarketing, and attribute orders to affiliate and marketing partners
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, customs, and recordkeeping obligations
We send marketing email only where permitted by law, and every marketing message includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional messages about orders you have placed.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies. These fall into the following categories:
- Strictly necessary — keep you logged in, remember your cart, secure checkout, and protect the site against bots and abuse. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics and performance — help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
- Advertising and remarketing — allow us and our partners to show relevant ads on other sites and measure whether they lead to purchases.
- Affiliate attribution — record which partner or publisher referred you so that valid commissions can be credited.
You can review and change your choices at any time on our Privacy Choices page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though strictly necessary cookies are required for checkout and accounts to work correctly.
7. Analytics, Advertising, and Affiliate Partners
We use the following categories of measurement and marketing services on our website:
- Google — Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Google Ads, including conversion measurement and remarketing through Google advertising services. Google may use this data in accordance with its own policies. You can learn more at Google’s partner sites notice and opt out of personalized Google advertising through Google My Ad Center.
- Awin and R.O.EYE — affiliate network and attribution services that record referral clicks and completed orders so partner publishers can be credited for valid referrals.
- Site analytics providers — including Cloudflare analytics and Jetpack Stats, which provide aggregate traffic and performance reporting.
- Order attribution — first-party technology that records the marketing source of a visit so we can attribute orders to the correct channel.
To limit interest-based advertising more broadly, you can use the Digital Advertising Alliance’s WebChoices tool at optout.aboutads.info.
8. Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only in the situations described below.
- Payment providers — Stripe, PayPal, Klarna, Affirm, and Afterpay, to process payments, refunds, and disputes.
- Shipping carriers and fulfillment — UPS, FedEx, USPS, ShipStation, Easyship, and our multi-carrier shipping tools, to label, ship, track, and deliver your order. International orders require sharing information with carriers and customs authorities for import clearance.
- Package protection — Route, where you purchase or retain Route Package Protection, so claims can be filed and resolved.
- Email delivery — our transactional email is sent and logged through an email delivery service so we can confirm delivery and diagnose problems.
- Technology providers — website hosting, content delivery and security, and customer support tools that operate the site on our behalf.
- Analytics, advertising, and affiliate partners — as described in Section 7.
- Manufacturers — where we submit a warranty claim on your behalf, limited to the information needed to process that claim.
- Professional advisors and authorities — accountants, auditors, insurers, and legal counsel, and law enforcement or regulators where required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
- Business transfers — if SKATE GURU INC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not disclose customer information to other customers or private parties. As stated in our store policy, we do not confirm or disclose any customer’s personal information, purchase history, order details, return history, or ownership of merchandise to third parties, and we do not facilitate communication or transactions between private parties.
9. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, after which it is deleted or removed from the associated record. Our main retention rules are:
- Orders — about one year after an order reaches its final status (completed, refunded, cancelled, failed, or an unpaid pending order), we remove the personal information attached to it, including name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and IP address. The underlying order record, such as the items purchased and the totals, is kept after that point without customer identifiers for tax, accounting, and reporting purposes.
- Customer accounts and Loyalty Rewards — if an account stays inactive for about two years, we remove the account and the personal information in its profile. Because Loyalty Rewards points and history are tied to the account, a long-inactive account may lose its points balance when the account is removed.
- Email delivery logs — our email delivery system keeps a log of the transactional messages we send you, such as order confirmations, shipping updates, and account or password-reset emails. These logs can include the recipient address, subject line, and message content, and are used to confirm delivery and troubleshoot problems. They are retained for a limited period and then deleted.
- Payment provider records — our payment providers keep their own transaction records under their own retention rules. Records held through our Stripe integration are retained for about ten years.
- Support, return, and claim records — retained as long as needed to resolve the matter and to defend against disputes, chargebacks, and warranty or carrier claims.
- Fraud and abuse records — retained as long as necessary to protect our business and enforce our policies.
- Blog comments — retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized and approved automatically. You may ask us to remove a comment at any time.
- Analytics and advertising data — retained according to each provider’s retention settings.
We may keep information for longer where the law requires it, or where we need it to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.
10. Your Privacy Rights
California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share, and request a copy of it
- Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions such as completing a transaction or meeting recordkeeping obligations
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information, where applicable
- Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights
Because we use advertising and affiliate technologies that disclose identifiers and browsing activity to partners, this activity may be treated as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. To opt out, visit our Privacy Choices page.
We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or a browser extension sends a GPC signal, we automatically treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information for that browser, and we apply it without requiring any further action from you.
Other U.S. state residents
Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana, have rights to confirm and access their personal information, to obtain a portable copy, to request deletion, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Most of these states also provide a right to correct inaccurate personal information; Utah law does not require correction, but we honor correction requests from residents of any state as a matter of practice. You may exercise these rights using the contact details in Section 15.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
Because we accept international orders, customers in these regions have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. We process personal information to perform our contract with you when you place an order, to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and marketing our business.
How to exercise your rights
Email [email protected] with your request. Please include the email address used for your orders and enough detail for us to locate your records. We will verify your identity before acting, which usually means confirming information already associated with your account or orders. We do not charge a fee for most requests and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization.
11. Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption of traffic to and from our website, restricted administrative access, and the use of established payment providers so that card data does not pass through our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have an account, you are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
12. International Data Transfers
SKATE GURU INC is located in the United States, and our website and records are hosted and processed in the United States. If you order from outside the United States, your personal information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses for these transfers.
13. Children’s Privacy
Our website is intended for adults. While we sell products used by skaters of all ages, purchases must be made by an adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
14. Third-Party Links and Embedded Content
Our site links to third-party websites and may include embedded content such as videos, maps, sizing resources, or manufacturer information. Embedded content behaves as if you had visited that other website directly, and those sites may collect data about you, set their own cookies, and monitor your interaction with that content. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites. Please review their policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The current version is always posted on this page with its effective date. Material changes will be highlighted on the website. Your continued use of www.skates.guru after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Shipping address validation
When you select Continue to shipping, we send the shipping street address, apartment or suite (if provided), city, state or region, postal code and country to Google Maps Address Validation to check for possible corrections.
