Jackson Ultima Glacier GS180 Women’s and Girls’ Ice Skates

Description

The Glacier is a Jackson SoftSkate: a white figure skate whose soft colored lining rolls out over the topline into the collar. One listing covers three model numbers split by size — GS184 in toddler 8–10, GS181 in youth 11–13 and 1–3, GS180 in women’s 4–10 — each on a charcoal PVC outsole with an Ultima Mark I blade mounted and factory sharpened.

Jackson positions the Glacier for beginners and publishes no support number, so on our scale it takes Medium Recreational Support — the tier for recreational models Jackson leaves unnumbered. Key details

• Upper and tongue: reinforced vinyl with a padded tongue and padded collar; the quarters are plain white, with no chrome inserts.
• Lining: Nylex — soft, warm, and the part that carries the color: it shows down the lace gusset, rolls over the topline as the collar, and the Soft Skate script on the tongue matches it.
• Closure: a full row of eyelets topped by open white lace hooks, so you can tension the ankle separately from the foot.
• Outsole: charcoal PVC with a stacked-look heel; no maintenance needed.
• Blade: Ultima Mark I stainless steel figure blade with a toe pick, etched ULTIMA MARK I, mounted and sharpened at the factory, so the skates work out of the box.
• Break-in: Jackson suggests lacing a little looser and leaving the top hook undone at first.

Colors

All four options are the same white boot — what changes is the lining: bright powder blue, plush white sherpa Fleece with a silver logo, soft rose Pink, or lilac Purple. Five size-and-color combinations are not carried: pink in toddler 9 and youth 1, blue in youth 3 and youth 13, purple in youth 11. • SoftSkate JS180 — the same silhouette, size codes and lining colors, dressed up: chrome inserts on the quarter and heel, chrome hooks, white outsole.
• Classic SoftSkate 380 — the same soft collar and Mark I blade on a boot with a tan stacked-look outsole, sold as single-color listings.
• Finesse JS450 — a traditional lace-up figure boot with a rolled padded topline instead of the soft collar.
• Softec Vista ST3200 — a Softec model proper, with a moisture-resistant nylon upper instead of vinyl.

Fit and sizing

One width, full sizes only: width C, which Jackson also writes as M. Same width, two labels — our Jackson Ultima sizing chart heads that column “C or M”. Skate sizes are not shoe sizes: measure in the socks you skate in and use the longer foot. Lengths are in inches with cm in brackets; girth is the circumference around the ball of the foot, and Jackson builds heels one width narrower.

Jackson publishes no toddler girths. The selector calls the kids’ sizes Youth, so a girls’ 12 is Youth 12 here.
