Jackson Ultima Artiste JS1790 Women’s and Girls’ Figure Skates

Description

The Jackson Ultima Artiste is a white lace-up figure skate for women and girls taking lessons and building basic skills, from Jackson’s Ascend recreational series. It is sold as two models split by size range — JS1790 in adult sizes, JS1791 in youth sizes — with light support: Jackson rating 25 adult, 20 youth, a step firmer than the Mystique (15/10).

Jackson’s support scale runs from 2 (Excel) to 85 (Elite Supreme). Light support keeps the boot forgiving while edges, stops and basic turns are learned; stiffness choice also depends on weight, height, skating frequency and skill — when in doubt, ask a coach or skate technician. Skaters with the basics down and learning harder skills are better served by the moderate-support Classique (45).

• Outsole: stylized brown PVC outsole and stacked-look heel (“JACKSON” molded in); it wipes clean.
• Blade: Ultima Mark IV all-purpose chrome-finish blade — straight-cut toe pick, 8-foot rocker — attached with screws and factory sharpened.
• Break-in: not heat-moldable (Jackson’s JS series) — it breaks in on the ice; Jackson suggests lacing early sessions a little looser and leaving the top hook undone.

Fit and sizing

JS1790 covers US women’s sizes 4–10 plus 11 and JS1791 covers youth 11–13.5 and 1–3.5, in half sizes and in B (narrow) and C (medium) widths; the model you receive depends on the size you choose. Skate sizes are not shoe sizes, and length alone does not settle the fit. Measure both feet standing in skating socks and use the longer one; then run a tape around the widest part of the foot — the ball — and match length and girth to the tables below or the full Jackson Ultima sizing chart. If your girth falls between the B and C values, take C; Jackson heels run one width narrower, so a C boot has a B heel. Never choose a size shorter than your longest foot — between sizes take the larger, and children may need a little room to grow.
