Description
The Jackson Ultima Competitor is a complete figure skate: a white leather boot with the Ultima Aspire XP blade already mounted. Jackson Competitor skates come in a women’s model, the DJ2470 (Adult 4–10), and a girls’ model, the DJ2471 (Youth 1–3.5). Jackson rates the boot 55 Firm, a step firmer than the Freestyle DJ2190, with heat-moldable memory-foam padding shaped to the ankle.
On Jackson’s 2–85 scale, 55 is a firm, mid-range boot; weight, height, skating frequency and skill all affect the right stiffness, so check with your coach or skate technician if you are between levels.
Key details
- Support: Jackson support rating 55 Firm (women’s DJ2470).
- Boot: leather upper with a softer topline, rolled collar and contouring backstrap for a closer fit at the ankle; four pairs of gold-tone hooks above the eyelets.

- Lining: fully padded microfiber with an antibacterial treatment.
- Outsole: LCL (layered cork leather) outsole, lighter and more shock-absorbing than a traditional sole, with a tan stacked heel.
- Blade: Ultima Aspire XP, chrome-finished with a cross-cut toe pick and 8 ft rocker, screw-mounted rather than riveted so a technician can adjust its position.
Fit and sizing
Sizes run in half sizes, Adult 4–10 (DJ2470) and Youth 1–3.5 (DJ2471), in widths A to D from narrowest to widest. Fitting takes two measurements: foot length sets the size and the circumference around the ball of the foot sets the width — the same size in A and in D is a different boot. Not every size comes in every width; the selector shows which combinations are in stock.
Skate sizes are not shoe sizes. Measure both feet in your skating socks: standing on paper with your heel against a wall, mark your longest toe for length, then wrap a tape around the ball of the foot for width. Use the larger foot, never go shorter than your longest foot, and between sizes take the larger one; children may need a little room to grow.
