Description
The Classic SoftSkate 380 is Jackson Ultima’s warm, heavily padded recreational boot, and White/Fleece is the all-white version — white vinyl with a thick cream fleece collar rolled out over the ankle. It is the only 380 color stocked in the complete run, tots’ 8 through women’s 10, and ships with the Ultima Mark I blade mounted and factory sharpened.
The fleece collar and covered tongue buy comfort on day one and keep a cold rink bearable. What they do not buy is support for jumping: Jackson rates the 380 Medium Recreational Support, the tier it names for beginners and skaters commencing lessons, and the one it leaves off its numbered 2–90 scale. Key details
- Support: Medium Recreational Support — public sessions and learn-to-skate rather than jumps and spins.
- Uppers: reinforced vinyl for strength and durability, with the SoftSkate 380 script on the outside quarter.
- Warmth: thick soft rolled collar in cream fleece over a padded covered tongue — what separates a SoftSkate from a plain Classic boot.
- Lacing: white metal eyelets up the instep finishing in four white hooks a side, so the ankle is tightened last.

Classic 200, SoftSkate 380 or Classic 500?
All three are white Jackson boots that arrive blade-fitted. Padding and blade separate them:
- Classic 200 — Nylex lining, padded felt tongue, same Mark I blade.
- SoftSkate 380 — this skate: the Mark I blade again, in a warmer and thicker boot rated Medium Recreational Support.
- Classic 500 — the same support rating in a traditional unpadded boot, stepping up to the Ultima Mark II blade.
Fit and sizing
Three model numbers cover the run and the size selector picks the right one: JC384 in tots’ 8–10, JC381 in kids’ 11–3, JC380 in women’s 4–10, full sizes only, all on one width — M, the fitting Jackson publishes for the whole Classic series.
Skate sizes are not shoe sizes. Measure heel to longest toe for length and around the ball of the foot for girth, then read both columns below. With one width made, a foot well outside the M girth is better served by a model offered in several widths. Between two lengths take the larger. Jackson publishes foot length only for the three tots’ sizes. Inches first, cm in brackets; the full Jackson Ultima sizing chart covers every size and width.

Jackson cuts its heels one width narrower than the ball, so an M boot sits on a narrower heel. A new pair feels firm at first; leaving the top hooks unlaced for an outing or two lets it settle.

A complete pair — SoftSkate 380 boots with Ultima Mark I blades mounted and factory sharpened, on white laces. Only guards for walking off the ice are needed on top.
